Wish I knew enough about working on race cars, to be able to get on Hershel’s crew. Just have to be satisfied doing the drywall remodel work on their house. Win some races, I’m sure Sherrie has a few more ideas for the house………lol
    Give them hell Hershel.

    Hi Hershel,

It was great reading the article on you, @ http://www.oregonlive.com. The years have been very kind to you. I hope I make it to my 80’s. Heck, I hope I make it to my 60’s. It was nice to see a photo of JR, too.

I can’t believe, we were all at Le Mans in 1976.(the monster car) The years, do go by way to quickly.

I won’t miss the next time you race at PIR. Say, your 85th B-Day!

    Thanks for the memories.

    Stay well…Sherry

wow as a kid growing up we spent every weekend at the portland speedway during the time when it seemed like Hershel and the oly express was unbeatable.
he was my dads favorite driver and has allways been my favorite driver aswell. i race nascar on line and i some times paint up my cars with Hershal’s old paint sheems and ill tell ya its alot of fun. I did not know Hershal was intown racing at pir or i would hae certainly been there to see my Hero and a legend. I would love to see a more detailed pic of the car he ran at pir if possable old one to if possable lol.
